The 2010 Forte received a "Top Safety Pick" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It is called the "Kia Shuma" in China, and "Kia Koup" in Chile.ĥ-speed manual, 4-speed automatic (6-speed automatic + paddle-shift as of 2011 model)ĥ and 6- speed manual, 4-, 5-, and 6-speed automatic The production Forte Koup is badged as the "Kia Cerato Koup" in Australia, Costa Rica, Russia and South Africa. ![]() The concept sported a twin scroll turbocharged version of the 2.0-liter Theta II inline-four engine. The two-door coupe "Forte Koup" was originally unveiled as a concept car in the form of the "Kia Koup" on 20 March 2008 at the New York International Auto Show. The Forte five-door hatchback debuted at the 2010 New York International Auto Show. The US model was unveiled at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show. The Korean model went on sale on 22 August 2008. The Forte two-door ("Koup") was previewed as the "Kia Koup" Concept, and was also designed in Kia's California design studio. The Forte sedan was designed in Kia's California design studio by Tom Kearns and his team. Three body styles, which are compact 4-door sedan, 5-door hatchback, and a new 2-door coupe body style was introduced. At the same time, the design of the rear suspension was simplified, which instead of independent multilink thrust became semi-dependent double-lever, with an elastic beam, which made it more reliable and easy to repair and maintain. However, ground clearance was reduced by a centimeter, thereby reducing the height by a centimeter. The car received a wider (4 cm) and longer (3 cm) body, a longer (4 cm) wheelbase and a wider (7 cm) gauge. Succeeding the first generation Cerato or second generation Spectra, several elements of the interior and suspension were changed. Kia has stated that the Forte was specifically designed to target younger buyers attracted to sharper auto designs. It shares the same platform as the Hyundai Avante/Elantra (HD), though employing a torsion-beam rear suspension in place of the Elantra's multilink design. ![]() In North America, the Forte replaced the Kia Spectra, while the Forte retained the Cerato name in numerous markets. The first generation Forte was introduced in 2008.

![]() But it may be possible to upgrade after the fact? Probably not though knowing how apple has been the main focus of the RTR movement.Īnyway, if ya gotta go with apple, their new silicon seems to be doing great from everyone I have heard from. I'm not sure about apple stuff as i have been a PC guy since the early 90s when I replaced my macintosh II from 1987 lol. ![]() It REALLY sucks when a hard drive fails or someone steals your laptop and you lose absofuckinglutely everything. You should get an external drive or two to back shit up regularly. So I'd always go as big as ya can as long as it's not crazy expensive. My desktop has a 2tb drive dedicated solely to Ableton/vsts/plugins/project files/sample library and it's almost full. Personally I’m finding 512 GB uncomfortably small on my current laptop and will get a 1 TB drive next time. Worst case scenario is you have an external SSD that you need to bring around with you. It’s the only option you can add more of externally, so you can skimp here if needed. You can pull up a RAM monitor on your current machine to get a rough idea of how much you use now.Īs far as storage, that depends on how much you need personally. The M1 Max has the same 10 core CPU as the Pro, just more GPU cores.ġ6 GB of RAM is probably fine for pretty much everything but huge sample libraries and large video files, 32 GB of RAM will be plenty for years to come and if your workloads increase. There is an upgraded GPU option for the 10 core M1 Pro as well, if you’re buying a 16” this is the base option, but this matters much less for music so if you’re buying 14” the upgrade doesn’t seem worth it to me. Get the 10, it seems to be about 30% faster in multicore. There are only 2 variations on the M1 Pro CPU, 8 and 10 core.
